Electrochemical hybrid three-electrode system with nanostructured working electrode

Characterization:

Three-electrode hybrid electrochemical system (sensor) for quantitative a qualitative determination of substances contained in solutions using electrochemical methods. It ca be used for determination of different substances with the possibility of simple modification for determination of bio-substances. This sensor is fabricated using thin film technology in combination with thick film technology. The working electrode surface is the most important. It is composed of an array of self-assembled nanocolumns (see figure below). The working electrode is made of gold which is electrodeposited into the previously prepared template, auxiliary electrode is made of carbon and reference electrode is made of silver-chloride. The senor topology is designed to allow simple working electrode functionalization.
